Company History
The company manufactures all types of moulded brake linings and clutch facings, springs, machinery components parts, accessories for motor vehicles, railways, aeroplanes and other conveyances of all types.The company entered into technical collaboration with Small & Parkes Ltd., Manchester, UK for a period of 10 years from 1st July, 1965 in relation to Don linings and clutch facings and right to use the trade, mark DON in brake and clutch linings.
During 1982, the company concluded a technical aid agreement with Laylock Engineering Ltd., a subsidiary of GKN to expand the product range of clutches.
During 1992, Sri Auto Parts Ltd merged with the company.
Glendale Investments Ltd., became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company during 1983. This subsidiary started leasing business during 1984.
2003 -Company`s 3607490 equity shares has been listed with NSE and admitted to dealings on NSE
1. Issue of Bonus Shares in the ratio of one equity share for every equity share held
2. Increases in Authorised Capital to Rs 100 million
2004 - Signs product licensing agreement with a leading brake lining manufacturer in Jordan. This is a technical collaboration wherein RBL will supply the product mix to the Jordanian company, which in turn would manufacture the linings and market it
